The past year-and-a-half has been collectively traumatic.

The stresses of COVID-19 have undoubtedly impacted our view of ourselves, those around us, and the world.

As we transition back to “normal”, it can feel unfamiliar and downright intimidating.

Being expected to return to school, work, etc. while processing the craziness and pain of the past year-and-a-half is tough.

If you’re feeling trepidatious, I am right there with you.

One thing to remember – despite all we have been through – we are STILL here.

We have OVERCOME every single difficult thing to get where we are now.

And when we face difficult things in the future, we will overcome them too.

As I approach this new chapter of my life – resuming in-person classes, relocating away from home, and adjusting to a new city – I want to practice grace, and understanding, towards myself and the mix of emotions that are bound to come.

I hope you can practice grace, and understanding, towards yourself too.

We are all doing the best we can given the circumstances – and that’s all we can do.
