San Pedro & Malibu

After spending too many days cooped up in the house, 2/3 of my siblings and I spontaneously decided to go for a scenic drive. Having forcefully rained and thundered a few days prior, we were delighted to see that it was a beautiful day.

The first stop on our drive was my personal favorite: San Pedro. Nestled behind the large, commercial Port of Los Angeles is an absolutely gorgeous spot to relax and sightsee. I plug in “Korean Friendship Bell” in Google Maps to be taken to this beautiful view. Once you reach the Korean Friendship Bell, continue straight and make a right-hand turn on West Paseo Del Mar. There are countless spots to step out, take a picture or two, or walk down closer to the water (what we did).

Beautiful, right?
Same location, on another day.

Our next stop was supposed to be the Santa Monica Pier. I had a feeling it would be closed, but we figured we’d give it a shot. Upon arriving, it was PACKED. And the pier was closed. Since Malibu is only ~15 minutes from the Santa Monica Pier, we decided to go there. We randomly came across the California State Park: Malibu Lagoon State Beach. Seeing that it was an hour before sunset, we payed the reasonable $3 parking fee and began to walk around.

Loved how the light was reflecting on the water today!

The sun decided to set around 455pm. It was a picture-perfect sight. To the left of this area was a ton of tide pools. Definitely cool to take a look at the sea anemone and crabs.

Malibu sunset!

Overall, it was a wonderful day.
